How to: Reload Printer toner on HP 477FDW


    The HP Laserjet 477FDW printer has 4 different toner cartridges: Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. These can be replaced by following the steps below:



  1. On the left side facing the printer, there is a button that can be pushed in (shown in picture below) Pushing this button will open the front of the printer where the ink is located.


    


  1. Pull back the front of the printer to show the inside where the toner cartridges reside











  1. Pull the Blue Handle out to reveal the 4 toner cartridges: The colors from top to bottom are: K - Black, C - Cyan, M - Magenta, Y - Yellow. You need to make sure the toner cartridges are placed in the right order or the color will be wrong when printing.




  1. Pull toner cartridge out of its slot (it will come out easily).


  1. Shake new toner cartridge side to side roughly 5 times to break up the toner particles


  1. Remove any film from new cartridge to avoid blockage


  1. Put new cartridge into the old toner slot.


  1. Recycle old toner cartridge!
